Collecting airline memorabilia or aeronautica is a hobby that anyone can enjoy, whatever your age and budget. It's very easy to start and there's plenty to collect. New airlines are launched almost every year while others go out of business. This makes airline memorabilia very collectable as items that once belonged to now defunct airlines suddenly become more valuable, while the current and new airlines produce a limitless amount of material to collect.
For those starting a new collection on a low budget then airline postcards are a great way to begin. They are cheap and easily obtained from eBay and collectors' fairs. They are also easy to store and require nothing more than a draw or bookshelf , although you'll probably find that as your enthusiasm for collecting grows you'll be looking for more and more space!
